Articles are long-form written content in Convia Pro: show notes, blog posts, newsletters and LinkedIn articles. You can have AI write one from an episode's transcript or from your ideas, or write it yourself, then edit it in a full editor and take it through review. Find them under **My Content → Articles**.

Convia does not publish articles to a website or platform for you. When an article is ready, you copy it to your blog, newsletter tool or LinkedIn, then mark it as published in Convia.

## Article templates

Templates set the structure and style of an AI-written article.

| Template | Best for |
|---|---|
| **Show Notes** | Episode summaries |
| **Blog Post** | Search-friendly content |
| **Newsletter** | Email format |
| **LinkedIn Article** | Professional long-form |

## Create an article

### Generate an article from an episode

1. Open the episode and go to its **Social Content** page.
2. In the **Articles** card, click **Generate with AI**.
3. A new article opens, linked to the episode, and Convia starts writing it from the transcript.
4. Review the draft. To try a different template, pick it in the article's AI settings and generate again.

The episode needs a transcript first. Generating an article costs 25 credits. [Magic Repurpose](https://docs.conviapro.com/docs/magic-repurpose.md) and [Magic Campaign](https://docs.conviapro.com/docs/magic-campaign.md) can also create articles as part of a run.

### Write an article from the Articles page

1. Go to **My Content → Articles** and click **New Article**.
2. Enter a **Title**. It is the only required field.
3. To have AI write the content, choose an episode under **Linked Episode (Optional)**, then use **Generate with AI** with the template and brand settings you want. The linked episode needs a transcript.
4. Or write the content yourself in **Article Content**.
5. Save the article.

### Write an article from your ideas

- From an idea: open it under **In Motion → Ideas**, choose **Act on Idea**, then **Create Article**. See [Ideas & scripts](https://docs.conviapro.com/docs/ideas-and-scripts.md).
- From linked ideas: in a saved article, link one or more ideas with **Link Ideas to Article**, then generate the article from them with the prompt template you choose.

Unlinking an idea asks you to confirm. The idea itself is not deleted, and you can link it again later.

## Edit an article

An article opens on its own page with these parts:

| Part | What it holds |
|---|---|
| **Title** and **Subtitle** | The article's headline and subheading |
| **Article Content** | A rich text editor with formatting, images and links. Open it full screen, or use find and replace |
| **Tags** | Library tags. **Suggest tags** proposes them from your workspace vocabulary |
| **Publish Date** and **Published URL** | When and where the article went live |
| **Linked Episode (Optional)** | The episode the article comes from |
| **SEO Options & Featured Image** | **SEO Title**, **SEO Description** and the featured image |

In **SEO Options & Featured Image** you can generate the SEO title and description from the article. For the featured image, upload one, choose one from your Media Library, or generate one with AI from your own prompt or a prompt drafted from the article. Generated images are saved to your Media Library so you can reuse them.

The same hashtag, snippet and guest or host insert buttons as the post editor appear here. Preview the article as readers and search engines will see it. **Version History** keeps earlier versions; choose **Restore Version** to go back to one. **Repurpose → View Related Content** opens the **Related Content** panel, which lists the articles and social posts made from this article.

## Review and publish an article

Articles move through four statuses:

| Status | How it gets there |
|---|---|
| **Draft** | Still being written |
| **Pending Approval** | Someone clicked **Submit for Review** |
| **Approved** | A reviewer clicked **Approve** |
| **Published** | Someone clicked **Mark as Published** |

1. When the draft is ready, click **Submit for Review**.
2. A reviewer clicks **Approve**.
3. Publish the article yourself on your blog, newsletter or LinkedIn, and paste its address into **Published URL**.
4. Click **Mark as Published**. This stamps the article's published date.

> [!NOTE]
> Approving an article does not publish it. The workspace setting that requires approval for social posts does not block articles either; articles always follow their own review flow in the editor.

## Repurpose an article

From an article, click **Repurpose**:

- **Article** opens **Repurpose as Article**. **Generate Article** creates a new article from the current content, with a new title and an optional different template. It is saved as a draft.
- **Social Post** opens **Repurpose as Social Posts**. **Generate Posts** writes social posts promoting the article for the platforms you select.

## Delete and restore articles

Deleting an article moves it to **Settings → Trash**, where the **Articles** tab lets you restore it or delete it forever. Trashed articles don't appear in episode, campaign or post-linking lists.
