> Connect LinkedIn, X, YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Threads, Facebook and Bluesky so Convia can publish for you, and fix connection problems.

Connect your social accounts so Convia Pro can publish your posts automatically. You manage every connection on the **Social Channels** page, where you can also add a channel offline, set default publishing settings for each account, and reconnect an account when its access lapses.

## Supported platforms

Convia publishes to eight platforms. Some support only certain account types, so check yours before you sign in:

| Platform | Supported account types | How it connects |
|---|---|---|
| LinkedIn | Personal profiles and Company Pages | Sign in with LinkedIn. Company Pages connect through the **LinkedIn Company** option where your plan includes it |
| X (Twitter) | Any account | Sign in with X |
| YouTube | Any channel | Sign in with Google |
| TikTok | Creator or Business accounts | Sign in with TikTok |
| Instagram | Professional or Business accounts | Sign in with Instagram |
| Threads | Professional or Business accounts | Sign in with Threads |
| Facebook | Pages only, not personal profiles | Sign in with Facebook and connect a Page |
| Bluesky | Any account | Your Bluesky handle and an app password |

Every platform connects without an approval step. Which platforms you can connect, and how many accounts, depends on your plan:

- A platform your plan doesn't include shows **(Upgrade required)** in the platform list.
- On plans with one account per platform, a platform you've already connected shows **(Upgrade to add more)**.
- At your plan's connected-account limit, Convia says so. Upgrade, or disconnect an account, to connect another. Offline channels don't count toward the limit.

To see what each platform supports, such as tagging, first comments and importing existing posts, expand **Supported Account Types & Features** on the **Social Channels** page. Convia doesn't connect to platforms outside this list, such as Pinterest.

## Open Social Channels

Open the launcher (the button with your workspace name at the bottom left) and choose **Social Channels** under **Show**. Owners and managers connect, disconnect and remove accounts. If your plan includes the Client Portal, you can also let clients connect their own channels from their portal; see [Client Portal](https://docs.conviapro.com/docs/client-portal.md).

## Add and connect an account

1. On **Social Channels**, click **Add Account**.
2. Choose the **Platform**.
3. Click **Add and connect**. The **Handle** field is optional here, because connecting fills in the real account details.
4. Sign in to the platform with the account you want to publish from, and allow every permission it asks for.
5. You return to **Social Channels**, where the new card shows **Active**.

If you connect an account from the **Get ready to publish** milestone on your Dashboard, Convia brings you back to that step afterwards. See [Quickstart](https://docs.conviapro.com/docs/quickstart.md#step-4-get-ready-to-publish-milestone-2).

> [!WARNING]
> TikTok can treat a brand new account that starts publishing through a scheduling tool as a bot, and the usual result is a permanent ban rather than a warning. Before any new TikTok connection starts, Convia asks you to tick a warning, on **Social Channels** and in the **Get ready to publish** milestone. Post from a new TikTok account by hand for a while first. Reconnecting an account you already use doesn't show the warning.

### Connect Bluesky

Bluesky doesn't use a redirect sign-in.

1. In your Bluesky settings, create an app password.
2. In Convia, click **Add Account**, choose **Bluesky** and click **Add and connect**.
3. Enter your Bluesky handle and the app password.

The connection keeps working until you revoke that app password in Bluesky. If you do, Convia asks you to enter a new one.

## Add a channel offline

Add a channel with just its handle when you want to plan before connecting, or when you don't have the login yet.

1. Click **Add Account** and choose the **Platform**.
2. Enter the **Handle**.
3. Click **Add offline**.

You can draft posts for an offline channel and record posts you published yourself with **Mark as Published**, but you can't schedule to it: the **Schedule** button prompts you to connect first. When you're ready, click **Connect to account** on its card and sign in as that same handle, which Convia checks. Connecting upgrades the same channel rather than creating a second one, and everything already attached to it comes along.

## Account states

Each card shows its state and the next step:

| Card shows | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| **Active** | Connected. Posts publish automatically | Nothing |
| **Offline** | Added by handle, or disconnected. You can draft but not schedule | Click **Connect to account** |
| **Reconnect required** | Access expired or was revoked. Posting to this account pauses until you reconnect | Click **Reconnect** and sign in with the same account |
| **Analytics off** | The connection predates analytics access. Publishing and scheduled posts are unaffected | Click **Enable analytics** or **Update permissions** |
| **Upgrade to connect** | Your plan doesn't include this platform | Upgrade your plan |

### Reconnect an account

Sign in with the same account the card belongs to. If you sign in with a different one, the card and its posts stay exactly as they were, and Convia tells you which account to use.

- Reconnecting a Facebook Page or an Instagram account keeps the card on that same Page or account.
- Any admin of a LinkedIn company page can reconnect it.
- To publish from a second account on the same platform, connect it as its own account, if your plan allows more than one per platform.

### Disconnect or remove an account

- **Disconnect** turns a connected account back into an offline one. It stays in your list, so you can keep drafting or reconnect later. Posts that were scheduled to it go back to draft.
- **Remove** deletes an offline account. Your drafts are kept, just no longer linked to an account.

## Default publishing settings

On Instagram, TikTok and YouTube cards, expand **Default publishing settings**, choose what new posts for that account start with, and click **Save defaults**. Existing drafts and scheduled posts keep their own values, and posts your automations create start from these defaults too.

| Platform | Defaults you can set |
|---|---|
| Instagram | **Publish as** (Reel or Story), **Also show in feed** and **Trial reel** |
| TikTok | Who can see the post (only the privacy levels TikTok offers your account), whether people can comment, duet or stitch, and branded content disclosure |
| YouTube | **Finish on YouTube** (upload new videos privately so you can finish them in YouTube Studio), **Visibility**, **Made for Kids**, **Category**, **Tags** and **Default audio language** |

Posting times aren't set per account. Your posting window and default posting times live in **Settings → Publishing** and belong to the workspace, so disconnecting and reconnecting a channel never loses them. See [Calendar & scheduling](https://docs.conviapro.com/docs/calendar-and-scheduling.md).

## More actions on a card

The card's menu also offers these, where they apply:

- **Add existing post** brings in posts you published directly on YouTube, Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, Threads, Bluesky or a LinkedIn company page, so their performance shows in [Analytics](https://docs.conviapro.com/docs/analytics.md).
- **Enable analytics** reconnects the account with analytics access, without removing and re-adding it.
- **Allow changing videos**, on YouTube channels in the preview, lets Convia change the publish time of videos it uploaded. Google shows a notice that this permission isn't verified yet, which you can continue past from **Advanced**. See [YouTube publishing](https://docs.conviapro.com/docs/youtube-publishing.md).

## Common connection problems

- **Wrong account type.** Facebook connects a Page, Instagram and Threads need a professional account, and TikTok needs a creator or business account.
- **Signed in as someone else.** Make sure you're signed in to the correct account on the platform before you connect.
- **Missing permissions.** Allow everything the platform asks for. If a platform refuses a permission, Convia remembers and stops asking you to reconnect for it.
- **LinkedIn company pages** need admin access to the page.
- **First comments** sometimes need an updated connection. The composer's **First Comment** card says so, and reconnecting the account fixes it.
