# Bring people to your website

> Use website analytics to see which posts send visitors to your site, link the right posts, and turn near-page-one searches into new content.

> For the complete documentation index, see [llms.txt](https://docs.conviapro.com/llms.txt).

Social reach is only half the job if you also want visits, sign-ups and bookings on your own website. This guide is for owners and managers who have connected website analytics in Convia Pro, or are about to, and want to put it to work: decide which posts should send people to the site, read what happens each week, and turn what people search for into your next pieces of content.

## Before you start

- **Your plan includes Advanced Analytics and website analytics.** See [Plans and billing](https://docs.conviapro.com/docs/plans-and-billing.md).
- **You have a website you own.** Your podcast host's pages cannot be connected.
- **Website analytics is set up.** Your website is listed under **Brand Brain → Voice & Tone → Your websites**, Google Analytics and Search Console (and optionally Bing Webmaster Tools) are connected under **Integrations → Website analytics** (under **Workspace** in the launcher), and your properties are selected. See [Website analytics](https://docs.conviapro.com/docs/website-analytics.md).
- **You picked at least one key event**, such as a sign-up or a booking, so you can see outcomes and not only visits.
- **You added branded search terms** under **Your websites**: your show, your company and your hosts, in every spelling people use.
- **Tag links to your websites is on.** It turns on when you save your first website property. It adds tracking tags to links to your own sites when Convia publishes, which is how a visit is credited to the post that sent it.

## Stage 1: Give posts somewhere to send people

A post can only send visitors to your site if it links there. Decide which posts should, and what they link to: an episode page on your site, a newsletter sign-up, a booking page or a resource. Posts that link only to YouTube grow your YouTube channel, which is fine, but they do not show up as website visits.

Ways to get the link into posts without adding it by hand every time:

| Where the posts come from | How to add your link |
|---|---|
| Any post | Put the link in the text, or, where your plan includes first comments, in the **First Comment** on platforms that support one to keep the caption clean |
| A Magic Campaign | Add the link to the **Campaign Brief**, which applies to every post the campaign writes |
| Generated campaigns, one platform only | Add it to that platform's prompt under **Brand Brain → Social Platform Prompts**. When Convia writes a campaign, it stays on that platform's posts |
| Autopilot | Use **Your own closing line** under **How each post ends**, which ends every caption with the text you write |

See [Plan a promotional campaign](https://docs.conviapro.com/docs/plan-a-launch-campaign.md) and [Get draft posts created for you](https://docs.conviapro.com/docs/automate-your-drafts.md).

## Stage 2: Give the data time to arrive

Visits from your posts start at zero when you first connect, because only posts published after tagging is on, and that link to your site, can be credited. Until then, the **Search** card and **Share of site traffic** already show how your site is found.

| Source | How current it is |
|---|---|
| Google Analytics | Through yesterday |
| Search Console | About three days behind |
| Bing Webmaster Tools | Updates about once a week |

Convia collects every hour, and a property that has not finished its first collection says **Waiting on first sync**, never 0. Give it a few weeks before you judge a channel.

## Stage 3: Read the Web tab every week

Once a week, open **Analytics** from the top of the launcher, choose the **Web** tab and read **From your Convia posts**:

1. **Platform:** which channels send visitors and engaged visitors. Put more of your website links on the channels that convert, and use the others for reach.
2. **Post:** the posts that sent the most visits or key events. Make more like them, and repost the winners to other platforms.
3. **Share of site traffic:** how much of your site's traffic your content is responsible for. It should climb as you add links.

**Campaign** compares your campaigns the same way. Every published post and every campaign also shows a **Website** row with the visits it sent. See [Website analytics](https://docs.conviapro.com/docs/website-analytics.md).

## Stage 4: Turn searches into content

The **Search** card shows what people type to find you, and where you are close to being found more.

1. Open **Near page one**, sorted by impressions. Each row is a query where your page ranks 8 to 20, just off the first page of results.
2. Click **Create idea** on the two or three with the most impressions. Each idea arrives prefilled with the query and the page.
3. Make something on exactly that topic, such as a clip, a post, an article or an episode segment, and link it to the page that ranks. New content and links pointing at a page help it climb.
4. Check **Top queries by clicks** for topics people already find you for, and build a series around the strongest one.

See [From idea to script to recording](https://docs.conviapro.com/docs/idea-to-recording.md) to develop those ideas.

> [!TIP]
> Repeat the near-page-one step every week. It is the quickest search win the Web tab offers, because those pages are already close.

## Stage 5: Track recognition month over month

**Branded search** counts searches that include your names, week by week. It moves slowly, so compare month over month, not day to day. A rise after a campaign, a guest appearance or a launch is the clearest sign your content is building a name people look up.

## Stage 6: Ask your AI assistant (optional)

Assistants connected through **Integrations → MCP Connections** can ask for your website traffic and search queries, including the near-page-one list, and get the same numbers as the Web tab. See [AI agents overview](https://docs.conviapro.com/docs/ai-agents-overview.md).

## What a good result looks like

- The posts meant to drive visits all link to a page on your own site.
- **Share of site traffic** rises over the weeks you add links.
- You know which one or two platforms send engaged visitors and key events, and you put your website links there.
- Each week, a few near-page-one queries become ideas, and the content you make from them links to the ranking page.

## Common pitfalls

- **Posts that link only to YouTube.** They send visits to YouTube, not to your site.
- **Judging results too soon.** Only posts published after tagging was turned on are credited, and visits start at zero.
- **YouTube videos uploaded before tagging.** They keep the description they were uploaded with, so their links are not tagged.
- **Links that already carry tracking tags.** Convia leaves them exactly as you wrote them.
- **Tags pushing a post over the limit.** If adding tags would put a post past the platform's character limit, it goes out untagged rather than shortened.
- **Links on Instagram and TikTok.** Those platforms show caption links as plain text, and Instagram does the same in comments. Put your website links on platforms where people can click them.
- **A greyed-out property.** Add its domain under **Voice & Tone → Your websites** and save.
- **Branded terms that are too short.** A short or common term can match other companies with a similar name. Prefer your full name.
