Magic Repurpose turns one episode into a full content package in a single guided run in Convia Pro. Producers use it once the final edit of an episode is in, before publish week. Everything it creates lands as drafts, so nothing is scheduled or published until a person acts.

## What Magic Repurpose creates

Magic Repurpose runs a fixed set of steps on the episode. It skips any step whose output already exists, unless you choose otherwise in the pre-flight check.

| Output | What you get |
|---|---|
| Transcript | The full text of the episode, with speaker names if you confirm them |
| Chapter markers | YouTube-ready timestamps so viewers can jump between topics |
| Episode insights | Themes, key takeaways, topics, a summary and suggested tags |
| YouTube titles | Several title options to choose from |
| YouTube description | A description with the chapter markers included |
| Podcast title and description | A podcast description, plus a podcast episode title when the episode has none |
| Clip transcripts | Any clips on the episode that have no transcript are transcribed, so the campaign can quote them |
| Social campaign (optional) | A promotional campaign of dated draft posts for the platforms you pick, optional newsletter articles, and a host post plus one promotion post per guest |

Articles created this way include a subtitle, SEO title and SEO description, like articles you write by hand.

## Before you run Magic Repurpose

The **Magic Repurpose** button sits in the episode header, next to **Notify Guests** and **Comments**, on every page of the episode. Until the episode is ready, the button opens a checklist instead of the wizard:

| Checklist step | Required | Link it offers |
|---|---|---|
| **Recording** | Yes | **Upload recording** |
| **Final edit** | Yes | **Add final edit** or **Import final edit** |
| **Clips** | Recommended | **Add clips** or **Review clips** |

**Repurpose now** becomes available once the final edit is in. Clips are not required, but adding them first means they get transcribed and can be used in the campaign. If you plan to generate posts for YouTube or TikTok and the episode has no clips, the setup screen warns you before you spend credits, because those posts will need a clip.

You also need enough AI credits for the steps that will run. The pre-flight check shows your available balance and will not let you continue if it is short.

## Run Magic Repurpose on an episode

1. Open the episode from **My Content → Episodes**.
2. Click **Magic Repurpose** in the episode header. If the checklist appears, finish the required steps, then click **Repurpose now**.
3. Review the pre-flight check. It lists the **Episode Status**, the **Steps to Process** with each step's credit cost, any **Skipped Steps** with the reason, and the **Estimated Cost** against your available credits.
4. Leave **Skip steps where content already exists** ticked to pay only for what is missing. Untick it to regenerate items the episode already has.
5. Click **Continue to Setup**.
6. Check the **Publish Date**. It starts on the episode's release date, and campaign posts are planned around it, from two days before to three days after.
7. If the transcript will be generated, set **Expected Speaker Count** (2 to 6 speakers), or choose **Unknown / skip diarization**.
8. To get social posts, turn on **Prepare a social campaign?**, then fill in the campaign fields described below.
9. Check the **Workflow Summary** and **Total Cost**, then click **Start Workflow**.
10. Watch the progress bar, or leave the page. The run continues on the server. When it ends you see **Workflow Complete!** with the steps completed, total time, credits used, what was generated and what was skipped because it already existed.

### Campaign settings

These fields appear only when **Prepare a social campaign?** is on.

| Setting | Default | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| **Campaign Name** | Blank | Optional. Leave it blank and the campaign is named for you |
| **Campaign Type** | **Promote a Specific Idea** | Change it if the episode calls for a different shape, such as **Guest/Partnership Spotlight** for a guest-led episode |
| **Social Platforms** | None | The platforms to write posts for |
| **Newsletter Articles (Optional)** | None | Article templates to generate with the campaign |

Select at least one platform or article, or the campaign step is skipped. Skipping the campaign loses nothing: you can build one later from the episode's Social Content page with [Magic Campaign](https://docs.conviapro.com/docs/magic-campaign.md). If your plan does not include Magic Campaign, the switch shows an **Add-on** badge.

## Speaker names and waiting for the transcript

When Magic Repurpose has to generate the transcript, it pauses on **Transcription is running**. This usually takes 2 to 10 minutes, depending on the episode's length. Click **Close & notify me** and Convia sends you a notification when the run is ready to continue.

Once the transcript is ready, **Confirm speaker names** asks you to match each detected speaker to a host or guest, so chapter markers, insights, descriptions and posts use real names instead of "Speaker 1/2". Click **Review speakers & continue**, or **Skip and continue without speaker names**. If no distinct speakers were detected, the run carries on without speaker labels.

While a run is in progress, the header button shows its state:

| Button | Meaning |
|---|---|
| **Continue Repurpose** | The run is paused, for example waiting on speaker names |
| **Repurposing** | The run is in progress |
| **Repurposed** | The run finished. The checklist offers **Run again** |

## Review what Magic Repurpose made

Every item is created as a draft. Campaign posts stay in draft status, so they do not appear in the approval queue until someone submits them. Edit anything, then schedule or publish when you are ready. If your workspace requires approval for social posts, they go through [approval](https://docs.conviapro.com/docs/approval-and-review.md) first.

When the campaign plan includes a post that needs a clip or visual the episode does not have, Convia still writes the post but holds it. The post is flagged, a written brief for the missing asset is attached as a comment, and the campaign page shows a banner such as **N posts need a clip** with a shortcut to clip creation. You get one notification that links to the campaign page.

> [!TIP]
> Text you add for one platform under **Brand Brain → Social Platform Prompts**, such as a sign-off or a promo code, appears only on that platform's posts. See [How AI uses your brand](https://docs.conviapro.com/docs/how-ai-uses-your-brand.md).

## Credits for Magic Repurpose

A full run on a brand-new episode costs roughly 100 to 150 credits. The pre-flight check shows the exact cost before you start. Credits are charged per step, only when that step succeeds, so a run that stops early costs less than the estimate. Reviewing, editing, scheduling and publishing the drafts are free.

| Step | Credits |
|---|---|
| Transcript | 1 per minute of audio or video, rounded up. The exact figure is shown in the pre-flight check |
| Chapter markers | 20 |
| Episode insights | 30 |
| YouTube titles | 15 |
| YouTube description | 15 |
| Podcast title and description | 15 |
| Social campaign | 20, plus 5 per platform, plus 15 per article |

For example, a campaign for 3 platforms with 1 article costs 50 credits. Credit costs can change; the pre-flight check is always current. See [AI credits](https://docs.conviapro.com/docs/ai-credits.md).

## Run Magic Repurpose again

Running Magic Repurpose again on the same episode skips anything that already exists, so it is a cheap way to fill gaps, such as adding the campaign after the analysis steps. To redo one item, such as the insights, untick **Skip steps where content already exists**, or delete or regenerate that item on its own page first.

Only one run can be in progress on an episode at a time. If one step fails, the remaining steps still run. Steps that need a transcript are skipped without charge when there is none, and the summary says what ran.
