Analytics

Track how your posts, episodes, clips, campaigns and automations perform across your connected platforms, how often numbers refresh, and what gaps mean.

On this page

Analytics shows how your published content is performing, so you can see what lands with your audience and do more of it. Open Analytics from the top of the launcher in Convia Pro. Convia collects the numbers from each connected platform on its own, so there is nothing to pull in by hand.

The Analytics page is plan-gated: it needs Advanced Analytics on your plan. Without it, the page says Analytics is not available on your current plan. See Plans and billing.

Platforms Analytics covers

Post performance syncs automatically for YouTube, X (Twitter), Bluesky, Instagram, Facebook, Threads, TikTok and LinkedIn company pages. Each platform reports different things, and Convia shows only what the platform actually reports.

Platform What it reports Limits
YouTube Views, likes, comments, watch time, subscriber changes and dislikes, plus a rolling last-28-days view and thumbnail click-through Shares are reported for the last 28 days only
LinkedIn company pages Impressions, reach, reactions, comments, shares and clicks LinkedIn serves page post statistics for the last 12 months, and Convia tracks each account's 100 most recent posts
X Impressions, likes, replies and reposts A post shows a dash when X did not report impressions
Bluesky Likes, replies, reposts and bookmarks (shown as saves) Bluesky reports no views or reach, so there is no Engagement %
Instagram Likes and comments, plus views, reach and saves where the account granted those permissions Instagram does not report shares. Stories are not measured
Facebook Reactions and comments, plus views, reach and watch time where the Page granted those permissions Facebook reports shares on Page posts but not on videos
TikTok Views, likes, comments and shares Accounts connected before analytics went live need Enable analytics
Threads Views, likes, replies and reposts Numbers depend on the insights permission the account granted

Find the right analytics view

Tab What it shows
Overview Total followers and their change over 28 days, a line for the last 90 days, workspace-wide post totals with Engagement %, and a Breakdown by platform table. Click a platform for everything it reports, including numbers only it provides, such as watch time or clicks
Audience Each connected account's followers and growth. YouTube channels add a Who is watching card
By Platform One line per platform. Turn on Split by format to separate Shorts from videos and Reels from feed posts
By Post Every published post with its numbers, Engagement %, how it compares with your usual and, for YouTube, Thumb. CTR. Filter by platform, search by title, sort any column and export. Click a post for its detail
By Campaign Performance rolled up per campaign
By Automation Performance rolled up per Content Automation, so you can see whether Autopilot pulls its weight against posts you write by hand. Shown where your plan includes Content Automations
By Episode Cross-platform totals per episode, with a views-over-time chart
By Clip Performance per clip across every platform it went to. Expand a clip to compare its posts side by side
Web Visits your posts send to your website and what people search for to find you. See Website analytics
Optimize Suggestions for posts behind or ahead of your usual pace, in early access workspaces

On the group tabs, the date range filters posts by publish date, and the numbers are the all-time totals of the posts in that range. These tabs also count how many posts are ahead of and behind your usual, with the median.

Each episode also has its own Analytics tab with the same rollup for that one episode. Guests see their episodes' analytics in the Guest Portal. See Guest Portal.

See one post's performance

Open any published post and its side panel starts on an Analytics tab, with the Preview tab one click away. It shows:

  • The post's latest numbers and its Engagement %.
  • Charts of how its reach and engagement have grown since it went live.
  • How it compares with your usual, charted against the middle half and the median of your recent posts.
  • When its title or caption was edited on the platform (YouTube, TikTok, Instagram or Facebook): the charts mark that day and list what it said before and after.
  • For a YouTube video, thumbnail impressions and click-through rate, day by day.
  • When the post was last checked.

Metric definitions

Metric Meaning
Views Plays of the video or media. Each platform counts a play differently
Impressions Total times the post was delivered. Can exceed reach, because one person can be shown a post more than once
Reach Unique people who saw the post. Never added to impressions
Reactions Likes, hearts or reactions
Comments Comments or replies
Shares Reshares, reposts, retweets or quotes
Saves Saves or bookmarks
Engagements Reactions, comments, shares and saves, counting only what the platform reported
Thumb. CTR For YouTube: how many of the times YouTube showed your thumbnail became views

Headline numbers are all-time totals, which every platform can supply. Views, reach and impressions measure different things, so Convia shows them separately and never adds them together. Headline tiles show a compact figure such as 12.4K with the exact number on hover; tables always show the exact number.

Engagement %

Engagement % is a post's engagements divided by how many people it reached on that platform. Each platform measures reach its own way:

Platform Engagement % is divided by
YouTube, TikTok, Threads Views
LinkedIn, X Impressions
Instagram, Facebook Reach
Bluesky No rate, because Bluesky reports no reach

When several platforms are combined, each platform's rate is weighted by how many posts it contributed, so one very large platform cannot drown out the rest. Hover any Engagement % figure, or expand a platform on the Overview, to see the exact formula.

Dashes, zeros and n/a

A dash means the platform did not report that number, or had not by the latest sync. A zero is a real measured zero. In the clip comparison, n/a means the platform can never report that metric.

Ahead or behind your usual

Every published post is compared with your recent posts on the same account and in the same format, at 24 hours, 48 hours, 72 hours and 7 days. A badge such as 38% of usual or 2.4x usual, with an arrow for ahead, behind or typical, shows on By Post (sort and filter by it), on the Posts page, in each episode's Analytics and Social Content tabs, and in a post's Analytics tab.

  • Scores appear within a few hours of a post turning 24 hours old. Until then the badge reads Not scored yet.
  • An account needs at least 5 earlier posts in the same format before a post can be compared. Until then the badge reads Not enough to compare.
  • YouTube Shorts are compared only with Shorts, and Instagram Reels only with Reels, so a short clip is never judged against a full episode.

When analytics refresh

Convia reads each post on a schedule based on its age, so new posts stay current while older ones are checked less often.

Post age How often its numbers refresh
New: the first 9 days, or 14 days on YouTube, Facebook and Instagram Twice a day. Once a day on X and LinkedIn
Day 14 and day 30 Checked once at each
After day 30 YouTube videos once a week. TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Threads and Bluesky posts once a month. X and LinkedIn posts keep their one-month numbers
  • New YouTube videos show fresh views between YouTube's daily reports.
  • YouTube thumbnail impressions and click-through rate arrive about two days behind. Shorts are mostly watched in the Shorts feed without a thumbnail, so their numbers stay small.
  • Follower counts are recorded once a day for each connected account. Collection starts within 24 hours of connecting.
  • The Who is watching card covers the last 28 days and refreshes weekly, so read it as a snapshot rather than a daily line.
  • The Overview shows Latest sync with the time of the newest reading. A post's Analytics tab says when that post was last checked.

Read your audience

The Audience tab and the first card on the Overview show your total followers across connected accounts, the change over the comparison period and a line over time. The total counts follower relationships, not people: someone who follows you on three platforms counts three times.

Follower history cannot be recovered after the fact. The first day Convia collects for an account is the first day of its chart. YouTube is the exception and recovers its first 90 days.

In the By platform table, each account shows a follower number, a dash if it can report but has not yet, n/a if the platform offers no follower count (such as a personal LinkedIn profile), or Coming soon.

For each YouTube channel, Who is watching ranks your viewers by age, gender, country, device, traffic source (how they found the video) and subscribers versus everyone else. Traffic sources are the ones worth reading first.

Missing data and reconnect prompts

An analytics reconnect banner

When a connected account could collect analytics after a reconnect, owners and managers see a banner on the Overview. It names the platform and the account, says its analytics is now available, and confirms that publishing and scheduled posts are unaffected. Click Go to Social Channels and reconnect that account. The banner appears only when analytics is what the account is missing.

Instagram and Facebook numbers such as views, reach and saves depend on the permissions the account granted when it was connected. An account connected before those permissions were available keeps reporting likes and comments, and reconnecting turns the rest on.

An account that needs reconnecting

If a platform revokes Convia's access, the account card shows Reconnect and Convia stops reading that account's analytics until you reconnect it. Publishing to that account pauses too. See Connect social accounts.

Other gaps

  • An episode platform card showing No data yet has nothing synced so far. Coming soon means that platform's analytics are not available yet.
  • A draft never collects performance. A post you bring in that is private or has no publish date arrives as a draft.
  • Instagram stories publish from Convia but are not measured.
  • While a tab loads, its numbers show a dash rather than a zero.

Track posts you published elsewhere

Add existing post, in an account card's menu on Social Channels, brings in posts you published directly on YouTube, Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, Threads, Bluesky or a LinkedIn company page. Pick posts from the connected account, or paste a link for YouTube and Facebook. Their performance is measured exactly like posts Convia published.

  • Reposts of someone else's post are left out, so your counts stay yours.
  • Instagram brings in feed posts and reels, not stories.
  • A private or undated video comes in as a draft, which does not collect performance, and the confirmation says so.

To bring in a YouTube channel's older videos in bulk, use the YouTube Import page, which has no entry in the menu. See Import your back catalog.

Optimize suggestions

The Optimize tab lists posts well behind your usual pace, each with three suggested titles or captions to paste into the platform, and notices when you use one. Posts well ahead of your usual get a Repost to another platform button. Convia never edits a live post for you, and editors get at most one notification a day when there is something new.
