Finding your way around

Learn Convia's layout, including the header, the launcher at the bottom left, the sidebar, episode pages and the controls you see on most pages.

On this page

Convia Pro's layout has four parts you use every day: the header across the top, the launcher at the bottom left, the sidebar, and the page itself. This page explains each one, where every area lives, and the controls you'll see on most pages.

The header

From left to right, the header holds:

  • The Convia logo, which takes you to your Dashboard.
  • Your show's name. If you belong to more than one workspace it has a down arrow; click it to switch. See Workspaces, teams & roles.
  • The trial badge, during a free trial, showing the days left. Click it to open Billing.
  • New (the plus button), with New Episode, New Post, New Article and New Campaign.
  • The notifications bell. Notifications about comments that mention you open your My Mentions page.
  • Your avatar menu, with your plan, your AI credit balance, Top up credits and My Tasks.

What you see depends on your role. Viewers don't get the New button, and only owners and managers see the trial badge, the plan and Top up credits.

The launcher

The launcher is the button at the bottom left showing your workspace name and the email you're signed in with. Click it to open a menu of every area:

Launcher section What's in it
Across the top Dashboard, Calendar, Campaigns and Analytics
My Content Episodes, Clips Library, Posts, Articles and Media Library
In Motion Ideas, Scripts, Content Lab, Content Automations and Trend Monitor, which also holds Feed Manager
Show Brand Brain, Collaboration (Hosts and Guests) and Social Channels
Workspace Integrations, Settings and Billing
Support Report Bugs, What's New, Help & Guide, and Getting Started if the setup card has been hidden
Account My Account, View My Appearances if you've been a guest on a show, and Sign Out

Entries depend on your role and plan. Content Automations, Social Channels, Integrations, Settings and Billing appear for owners and managers. A page your plan doesn't include is either hidden or, like Analytics, shows a lock with a View plans button.

Brand Brain, Collaboration, Integrations and Settings each open a page listing what's inside them. For example, Settings lists Members, Client Portal, Publishing, Publishing history, Workflow & Tasks, AI Settings and Trash, and Integrations lists your connected services, such as OpusClip, Descript, ElevenLabs, HeyGen, Website analytics, RSS Feed and MCP Connections.

The sidebar

The sidebar shows the pages of the area you're in. Open Episodes and it lists the My Content pages. Open Voice & Tone and it lists Brand Brain's pages under Voice & Tone, Templates and Prompts. On the Dashboard it lists Dashboard, Calendar, My Tasks, Campaigns and Analytics.

Two links stay at the bottom of the sidebar on every page:

On a tablet, the sidebar collapses to a rail of icons.

Where things moved

Help topics and some guides name five tabs: Home, Content, Planning, Brand Brain and Settings. The page names haven't changed, so Settings → Publishing or Voice & Tone still mean the same pages. Here's where each older area is now:

Older name Where it is now
Home Dashboard, Calendar, Campaigns and Analytics across the top of the launcher. Approval Queue is Approvals at the bottom of the sidebar, and My Tasks is in your avatar menu
Content My Content in the launcher. Tags & Hashtags and Text Snippets moved into Brand Brain
Planning In Motion in the launcher
Brand Brain → Social Channels Social Channels, its own entry under Show in the launcher
Brand Brain → Hosts, Guests (My Network) Collaboration → Hosts and Collaboration → Guests, under Show
Brand Brain → RSS Feed Integrations → RSS Feed, under Workspace in the launcher
Settings → OpusClip, Descript, Website analytics, MCP Connections Integrations, under Workspace in the launcher
Settings → Billing Billing, under Workspace in the launcher
Content → Trash Settings → Trash
Settings → Refer and Earn Refer and Earn at the bottom of the sidebar

The Dashboard

The Dashboard is your starting page. It shows:

  • Getting started, the setup milestones card, for owners and managers until setup is done. See Quickstart.
  • Channel consistency, with every connected channel across the last week, today and the next two weeks, and a state for each such as Healthy, Slowing, No queue or Dormant. It measures against your publishing cadence or your Autopilot setup where you have one. Hover or click a day with posts to see them and open one.
  • Recent content and quick stats.

Episode pages

An episode has its own sidebar listing its pages, in this order:

Page What it holds
Overview Title, description, guests and status
Episode Prep Planning before you record
Recording Original recording, final edit and audio, with upload and Descript actions
Clips The episode's clips and the Add clips menu
Images The Thumbnail Studio launcher
Transcript The episode transcript
Insights Themes, takeaways and tags
Distribution YouTube details, podcast description, chapter markers and thumbnail selection
Social Content Articles, posts and campaigns linked to the episode
Analytics Performance of the episode's published posts across platforms

The header above every episode page carries Magic Repurpose, Notify Guests and Comments. See Episodes & clips.

Common interface patterns

Status badges

Badges are color-coded by status:

Color Status
Blue Draft
Yellow Pending Approval
Green Scheduled or Active
Dark green Published or Complete
Red Failed or Error

Most content lists offer a Grid view of cards and a Table view of compact rows; toggle them with the icons at the top right of the list. Use the status and platform filters to narrow a list, sort by date, and search by title or description.

Side panels

Many pages have side panels: Comments for team discussion and, on an article, Version History for its earlier versions and Related Content (open it with Repurpose → View Related Content) for the posts made from it. An idea lists what was made from it under Content Created.

Modals and detail pages

Posts open in a modal for quick editing. Close one with the X at the top right; Convia asks before discarding unsaved changes. Articles and episodes open as full pages.

Times and time zones

Every time in Convia shows in your workspace's time zone, not your computer's, with a small badge such as EDT beside it. Set the time zone in Settings → Publishing. See Calendar & scheduling.

Open several pages at once

Cmd-click or Ctrl-click an item in the sidebar or a menu to open it in a new browser tab. Each tab keeps its own workspace.

Help inside Convia

Open the launcher and look under Support:

  • Help & Guide opens a help panel you can search.
  • What's New lists recent releases by date.
  • Report Bugs opens Reports & Feedback, where you can send a bug report, a feature request or feedback.

See Get support for every way to get help.

On a phone

Convia is built for a desktop browser. On a phone-sized screen, workspaces with the mobile view switched on get a smaller app for approving posts, capturing ideas and creating posts. Other workspaces see Mobile is coming soon and are asked to use a desktop browser, with the option to try a different workspace.
