Magic Campaign
Have Convia plan a multi-platform campaign from an episode, review the plan for free, then generate the posts and send them for approval.
On this page
Magic Campaign plans a promotional campaign for one of your episodes in Convia Pro and writes its posts. It reads the episode's transcript, clips, guests and themes, lays out a story across the platforms and dates you pick, and lets you review that plan before you spend any credits. Use it when an episode is coming out and you want a full set of posts around its release.
How Magic Campaign works
Magic Campaign runs in three stages:
- Plan (free). Convia drafts the campaign's through line and a set of beats for each platform, each with a date. Planning costs nothing.
- Generate (credits). When the plan looks right, Convia writes the posts for it. This is the step that uses credits.
- Launch. You review the posts, then launch the campaign, which sends every post to the approval queue, or save everything as drafts.
Nothing Magic Campaign writes publishes on its own. Every post waits for someone to review it.
Open Magic Campaign
- Open an episode and go to its Social Content page.
- Click Magic Campaign. Beside it are Schedule clips and Create Campaign.
- The Magic Campaign Generator panel opens, named for your episode.
If Magic Campaign is not included in your workspace's plan, the button opens an offer to add it instead. Magic Campaign can be part of a plan or bought as an add-on. Building a campaign by hand works without it. See Plans & billing.
Set up the campaign
The setup screen has these settings:
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Select Platforms | Which platforms get posts. The list shows the platforms your workspace has added on Social Channels |
| Campaign Type | The story arc: Promote a Specific Idea, Capitalize on a Trend, Seasonal/Recurring Theme or Guest/Partnership Spotlight. See Campaigns for how each one paces posts |
| Campaign Period | The Start Date and End Date of the campaign |
| Posting Frequency | How often to post on each platform: Daily, 3x per week (the default), 2x per week, Weekly or Bi-weekly |
| Campaign Brief (optional) | Instructions every post must follow, such as a call to action, a phrase to include or a theme to stress |
| Additional Options | Brand Identity Settings (Use Brand Characteristics, Use Audience Profile (ICP), Use Content Rules) and Include full transcript |
| Include Articles | Article templates to write alongside the posts. Templates come from Brand Brain → AI Prompts |
| Estimated Cost | The credits generation will cost, and how many you have |
How many posts you get
Posting frequency and the campaign's length set the number of posts per platform. Convia writes at least 1 and at most 8 posts per platform. A campaign that lasts a single day always gets one post per platform, whatever the frequency.
The Campaign Brief
Text in the Campaign Brief applies to every post, and wins over the general guidance where the two conflict. It never overrides a platform's character limit.
Click a variable chip to insert the episode's link at your cursor. {{video_url}} becomes the episode's video link and {{podcast_url}} its podcast episode link. A chip appears only when the episode has that link, so a variable never turns into a blank.
Instructions you add for one platform under Social Platform Prompts, such as a sign-off or a promo code, appear only on that platform's posts. Anything in the Campaign Brief appears on every post.
Include full transcript
Include full transcript is on by default. Turn it off to send only the episode summary, themes and takeaways instead of the whole transcript.
Start date rules
The campaign is anchored on the episode's publish date. When the episode has one, the dates start at two days before the publish date and end three days after it, so the campaign has a lead-up, a release day and a follow-up:
- Posts before the publish date are teasers that build anticipation and never say the episode is already out.
- Posts on the publish date are the release-day push.
- Posts after it are reflection and follow-up.
Move the start date earlier to get more lead-up teasers. If the episode has no publish date, the date pickers start blank and you choose both dates.
A campaign cannot start in the past. Posts cannot be scheduled for a time that has gone by, because they would publish immediately instead of on the day you picked. For an older episode, the default dates may already have passed. Convia then shows This window starts in the past or This window has already passed, and offers Start tomorrow instead, which moves the window to start tomorrow and keeps its length. You cannot create a plan until the start date is in the future.
Review the plan
- Click Create Plan (free). Convia shows Planning Your Campaign while it works.
- Read the Campaign Spine: the Through line (what the whole campaign says) and the Authority objective.
- Check the Projected Timeline and each platform's beats.
- Deal with any beat Convia could not fill from what you have. No beat is dropped silently.
- Click Generate Campaign, which shows the credit cost, or Back to change the setup.
A beat with nothing to carry it is marked with what it needs:
| Label | Meaning | Action |
|---|---|---|
| Generatable | Can be produced in Convia | Generate marks the visual to be made after launch. Needs the Content Generation Lab on your plan |
| From a clip | Could use a clip you already have | Find a clip searches this episode's clips |
| Needs production | Needs new filming or recording | Turn into a script starts a script for it |
Generate and launch
After generation, Convia shows the campaign's name and description, a Campaign Timeline, and every post. Before you launch you can:
- Edit any post's text.
- Edit the published title that viewers see on YouTube and Facebook. The internal name Convia generates is descriptive, not a public title.
- Remove posts you do not want.
Then choose:
- Launch Campaign sends every post, social posts and articles alike, to the approval queue for a final review before it can be scheduled.
- Save as Draft keeps everything as drafts.
When you launch, Magic Campaign also:
- Writes copy that matches the episode's publish date, so posts dated before release build anticipation.
- Drafts promotion posts for the host and one for each guest.
- Writes any articles you chose, with a subtitle, SEO title and meta description.
Same-day posts on different platforms are spread across the day instead of all going out at one time. The episode's Articles, Promotion Posts and Campaigns sections refresh when the run finishes.
Posts that still need a visual
A beat with nothing in your library to carry it still becomes a post, held with a brief describing the asset it needs. It shows a Held · needs asset chip on the campaign page, and you get a notification that opens the campaign. Attach the clip or visual, then send the post for review. In the approval queue, a held post offers Review & attach instead of Approve.
Credits
Planning is free. Generating uses credits, priced by the size of the campaign:
Total = 20 + (5 × platforms) + (15 × articles)
| Campaign | Credits |
|---|---|
| 3 platforms, no articles | 35 |
| 3 platforms, 2 articles | 65 |
| 4 platforms, 1 article | 55 |
| 5 platforms, 2 articles | 75 |
If you do not have enough credits, the setup screen says so. Reduce platforms or articles, or add credits. See AI credits.
Magic Campaign from Magic Repurpose
Magic Repurpose can prepare a social campaign as one of its steps. It plans the campaign around the Publish Date shown in the wizard, from two days before to three days after. Posts from Magic Repurpose are saved as drafts, not sent to the approval queue.
