Magic Repurpose makes a whole content package in one run. When you want to choose each piece yourself, or you are working from one clip or one article rather than a fresh episode, repurpose step by step instead. This guide is for producers in Convia Pro who want control over what gets made, in what order, and for which platforms.

When to repurpose by hand

Use this path when:

  • The episode already has some content and you only want a few more pieces.
  • You want posts from particular clips, not a full campaign.
  • You are repurposing an article or an older episode rather than a new recording.

For a brand-new episode where you want everything at once, start with Get the most from a new episode instead.

Before you start

  • The episode has a final edit and a transcript. Articles and clip posts are written from transcripts. Transcribe from the top of the episode's Transcript page. See Episodes and clips.
  • Your Brand Brain is set up, so every draft starts in your voice. See Brand Brain.
  • You have AI credits. Each AI action has a set cost; writing by hand and editing are free. See AI credits.

Stage 1: Cut the episode into clips

Clips are the raw material for most social posts, so make them first.

  1. Open the episode's Clips page and open the Add clips menu.
  2. Choose Upload video files, Add a clip with details, Create clips with OpusClip, or one of the Descript options.
  3. Check that each clip has a transcript. If one does not, open it and use Transcribe under the video.

Each clip gets its own entry in My Content → Clips Library, linked to its episode. The OpusClip and Descript options are shown to owners and managers. See Clip imports.

Stage 2: Turn clips into posts

Work clip by clip when the wording matters, or in bulk when you want coverage.

One clip at a time

  1. Open a clip from My Content → Clips Library.
  2. Click Generate Posts and pick the platforms you want.
  3. Review each draft in the post editor. Posts made from a clip can also write a new caption from your own instruction plus the clip's transcript.

Many clips at once (where your plan includes bulk scheduling)

  1. On the episode's Social Content page, click Schedule clips, or select clips on the Clips page and choose Schedule selected.
  2. In Bulk schedule clips, pick Simple to spread posts across a window, or Advanced to choose posting days per channel.
  3. Click Generate, review the preview, then choose Launch Campaign to send every post for approval, or Save as Draft.

See Posts and Calendar and scheduling.

Stage 3: Turn the episode into an article

  1. On the episode's Social Content page, find Articles and click Generate with AI.
  2. The article editor opens linked to the episode and writes the article from its transcript. Its AI settings let you pick a template: Show Notes, Blog Post, Newsletter or LinkedIn Article.
  3. Edit the article, including its subtitle and SEO fields.

Articles move through Draft, Pending Approval, Approved and Published. Approving an article does not publish it: Mark as Published is a separate step. See Articles.

Stage 4: Turn the article into more content

An article is a second source you can repurpose again.

  1. Open the article from My Content → Articles and click Repurpose.
  2. Choose Article to open Repurpose as Article and rewrite it with a different template, for example a newsletter version of a blog post.
  3. Or choose Social Post to open Repurpose as Social Posts and write posts that promote the article.

Stage 5: Add host and guest promotion posts

On the episode's Social Content page, the Promotion Posts card holds posts that promote the episode through your hosts and guests. Click Generate with AI to write a host post plus one for each guest, or Create Promo Post to write one yourself. Guests can copy their posts from the Guest Portal. See Promote an episode with your guest.

Stage 6: Group the pieces into a campaign

Loose posts are hard to schedule as a story. Put them in a campaign so they share a calendar and a report.

  1. On the episode's Social Content page, click Create Campaign, or open Campaigns from the top of the launcher and click New Campaign.
  2. Choose I will pick the content myself, then search for and pick the posts and articles you made. Nothing is generated and nothing is charged.
  3. Continue through scheduling and launch.

A clip joins a campaign as a post. If you pick a bare clip in the builder, Convia tells you it was not added and where to add it, so generate a post from the clip first (Stage 2).

On an existing campaign, Link Existing adds posts you have already written. See Campaigns.

Stage 7: Keep track of what came from what

Convia records where each piece came from:

  • Articles and posts link back to their source episode, and the episode's Social Content page lists its articles, posts and campaigns.
  • Posts show which campaign they belong to.
  • An idea lists everything made from it under Content Created.

What a good result looks like

  • Each strong moment in the episode has a clip with a transcript.
  • Every target platform has posts written for it, not copied across.
  • At least one article exists, and it has its own promotional posts.
  • Everything sits in one campaign with dates spread out, so one episode does not crowd your calendar.

Common pitfalls

  • Generating posts from a clip with no transcript. A post cannot be generated from a clip that has not been transcribed. Transcribe it first.
  • Picking YouTube or TikTok without a clip. Those platforms post video, so the post needs a clip attached.
  • Generating the same thing twice. Each run costs credits and makes another set of drafts. Check the episode's Social Content page before you generate.
  • Thinking an approved article is live. It stays Approved until someone clicks Mark as Published.
  • Stacking one episode's clips on the same days. Spread the dates as you schedule, or use Advanced in Bulk schedule clips, which skips days that are already full. Spread out, under Declutter on the Calendar, can re-space clips you bulk scheduled. See Calendar and scheduling.
