Timely content works when you say something about a trend while people are still talking about it, and when what you say connects to your own expertise. This guide is for creators and marketers using Convia Pro who want to find trends that fit their brand, decide quickly which ones are worth a response, and get from a trend to a reviewed post, script or short campaign.

Before you start

  • Trend Rider is on your plan. Trend Monitor and Feed Manager are part of Trend Rider, which is included only on some plans. If you do not see Trend Monitor under In Motion in the launcher, your plan does not include Trend Rider. See Plans and billing.
  • Your Brand Brain is set up. Each trend's relevance score is based on your brand settings, so thin settings give vague scores. See Brand Brain.
  • You have AI credits. Discovering trends and the AI actions on a trend cost credits. Saving a trend as a basic idea is free. See AI credits.
  • Optional: RSS feeds for the sources you already follow, added in In Motion → Trend Monitor → Feed Manager with Add Feed.

Stage 1: Point Convia at your subject

Trend Monitor finds trends two ways. Use both if you can: searches for breadth, feeds for the sources you trust.

  1. Go to In Motion → Trend Monitor and click Discover Trends.
  2. Enter up to five topics, for example "AI in marketing" or "podcast growth". More topics cost more credits.
  3. Run the search. Results appear as trend alerts on the Active Alerts tab.

If you have feeds in Feed Manager, Refresh from RSS on the same page scores their latest items into alerts too. See Trend Discovery.

Stage 2: Triage the alerts

Each alert shows what is trending, a relevance score for your brand, an urgency (High Urgency, Medium Urgency or Low Urgency) and its source. Sort and filter before you spend anything:

  • Use Urgency, Source and Min Relevance to narrow the list.
  • Act first on alerts that are both relevant and urgent. A low-urgency alert can wait as a saved idea.
  • Dismiss anything that does not fit, and say why. Dismissed alerts move to the Dismissed tab, where Restore brings one back.

Stage 3: Choose the action that matches your time

Each alert has a Create Campaign button and a menu of other actions. Pick by how soon you will use the result:

Action Cost What you get Use it when
Quick Idea (Basic) Free A basic idea in your Ideas list, linked to the trend You want to park it for later
Create Idea (AI) 10 credits A full idea with a description You will write about it soon
Create Script (AI) 15 credits A production-ready script You will record a segment on it
Create Campaign Varies A campaign built from the trend It is urgent and you have something to say now

Everything these actions create lands as a draft for you to review.

Stage 4: Turn the idea into content

  1. Open the idea from In Motion → Ideas.
  2. Under Act on Idea, choose what to make: Social Post, Article, Script or Campaign.
  3. For a quick post, choose Social Post, pick the platform, and use Generate with AI. The draft opens in the composer in your brand voice, ready to edit.

Move the idea's status along as you go (New, Researching, Ready, In Progress, Completed) so the team knows what is taken. See Ideas and scripts.

Stage 5: Respond with a trend campaign

For a trend worth more than one post, click Create Campaign on the alert. The campaign builder opens already filled in:

  • Named Trend Response: followed by the topic, with the type locked to Capitalize on a Trend.
  • Starting today, with a length and frequency set by the alert's urgency.
Alert urgency Campaign length Posting frequency
High 5 days Daily
Medium 10 days 3x per week
Low 14 days 2x per week

Pick your platforms, then build the story. Build the story for me checks every beat against your library, so a trend response can point to your own clips and posts on the subject. See Plan a promotional campaign.

Stage 6: Review before anything goes out

Posts a campaign writes go to the approval queue, and a post drafted from an idea opens in the composer as a draft. Check each one for facts that may have moved since the trend was found before you schedule or approve it. An approved post with a date moves to Scheduled. See Approval and review.

Stage 7: Automate the routine (optional)

If you check the same feeds every day, a Trend automation can draft a post a day from the freshest trend your feeds pick up, and drop it into your approval queue. Its Corpus-grounded mode only drafts when a trend matches your own episodes. See Get draft posts created for you.

What a good result looks like

  • Your alerts list is short: relevant trends acted on, the rest dismissed or parked as ideas.
  • Each trend you respond to connects to something you know or have already published.
  • Urgent responses are approved and scheduled within the trend's window, not days later.

Common pitfalls

  • Acting too late. A high-urgency trend loses value quickly. Respond while it is current, or park it and move on.
  • Spending credits on every alert. Use Quick Idea (Basic) to save alerts you are unsure about, and spend credits only on the ones you will use.
  • Commentary with no link to your work. Tie the response to your own episodes or expertise, or skip it.
  • Trend Monitor is missing. Your plan does not include Trend Rider.
  • Running out of credits. On the Trends pages, Convia opens the option to buy credits or upgrade. See AI credits.
