Posts
Write, edit and schedule social posts for each connected account, attach media, bring in posts you published elsewhere, and restore deleted ones.
On this page
Posts are the social media content Convia Pro publishes to your connected accounts on LinkedIn, X (Twitter), Instagram, TikTok, Threads, Facebook, Bluesky and YouTube. Every post targets one account. Find all of them under My Content → Posts, where you can filter by status, platform, account, campaign, automation and episode.
Create a post
- Go to My Content → Posts and click Create Post.
- Pick the platform from the list. In the editor, choose the account under Select Account.
- Fill in the Internal name and Post Content. On YouTube and Facebook, also fill in the Published title.
- Add media if the post needs it.
- Click Save Draft, or set a schedule date and click Schedule.
On an episode's Social Content page, Create Post makes a post linked to that episode, and Generate with AI opens the editor with Write for me ready. Posts are also created for you when you generate posts from a clip, an idea or an article, and by campaigns, Magic Repurpose and Content Automations. AI-written posts land as drafts or in the approval queue, and none of them goes live until a person acts.
Write the post
Internal name and published title
A post has two names:
- Internal name is what the post is called inside Convia, in lists, on the calendar and in search. Nobody outside your workspace sees it.
- Published title is the public title. On YouTube and Facebook it is the video title viewers read. Other platforms ignore it.
Leave the published title blank and the internal name is used as the public title. Fill it in on YouTube and Facebook posts, because names that Convia generates are descriptive labels, not good public titles.
Write faster
- Write for me: describe what you want, and AI drafts the title and text in your brand voice, sized for the platform.
- Insert buttons above the text drop content exactly where your cursor is: saved tag groups (inserted as hashtags), text snippets, the linked episode's YouTube, podcast or playlist link, and a linked guest's or host's details.
- @ mentions: type @ to tag accounts on supported platforms, where your plan includes mentions. See Mentions & tagging.
- Caption from clip: posts made from a clip can generate a caption from your instruction plus the clip's transcript. It is hidden on YouTube and TikTok posts.
- Suggest tags: proposes tags from your workspace's existing vocabulary for 3 credits.
Tag groups and text snippets are shared with your whole workspace.
Character limits
The editor shows a counter that turns red when you go over the limit.
| Platform | Limit |
|---|---|
| X (Twitter) | 280 characters |
| 3,000 characters | |
| 2,200 characters | |
| TikTok | 2,200 characters |
| Threads | 500 characters |
| 63,206 characters | |
| Bluesky | 300 characters |
| YouTube | 5,000 characters |
- A YouTube Published title can be up to 100 characters, and a Facebook video title up to 255.
- A YouTube post with a title over 100 characters or a description over 5,000 stops with a message saying which is too long, instead of uploading cut short. A YouTube post with no title takes one from the start of its text.
- X counts every link as 23 characters, and so does Convia.
Add media
A post carries one kind of media:
- A clip from the linked episode, chosen under Select a video clip.
- Images, uploaded or picked from your Media Library. You can attach several and reorder them.
- A video file.
- A PDF document, which appears as a swipeable carousel on LinkedIn. Give it a Carousel Title.
You can't mix kinds. Attaching media to a post that has a clip, or a clip to a post that has media, asks before it replaces what is there. You can also generate the post's image in the editor: pick an image type, refine it and attach it. Media is sent to the platform when the post publishes, not before.
Schedule and options
- Schedule Date is required to schedule. Pick a date without a time and Convia uses your default posting times. A post can't be scheduled for a time that has already passed. See Calendar & scheduling.
- Link to Episode connects the post to an episode, so it shows on the episode's Social Content and Analytics pages.
- Assign to Guest shows the post to that guest in the Guest Portal as assigned to them.
- Post URL records where the post was published.
- Privacy & additional settings holds each platform's publishing options, such as YouTube visibility or an Instagram post's format. Set defaults per account under Default publishing settings on its card in Social Channels.
- First Comment posts a comment automatically after your post publishes, with a delay you choose of up to a minute. It works on LinkedIn Company Pages, X (Twitter), Bluesky, Threads, Facebook and Instagram, not on personal LinkedIn profiles, TikTok, YouTube or Instagram stories. Whether first comments are available depends on your plan; see Plans, trials & billing.
Instagram reels and stories
Each Instagram post has three controls under Privacy & additional settings:
- Publish as: Reel, or Story (24 hours), which takes no caption and no first comment. Story videos can be up to 60 seconds and 100MB.
- Also show in feed: on by default. Turn it off to keep a reel in the Reels tab only.
- Trial reel: shows the reel to people who don't follow you first. Instagram requires around 1,000 followers; otherwise the reel publishes as normal.
Post statuses
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Draft | Still being edited |
| Pending Approval | Waiting for a manager to review |
| Approved | Cleared by a reviewer. A post with a schedule date moves to Scheduled instead |
| Scheduled | Approved and waiting to publish |
| Published | Live on the platform |
| Failed | Publishing failed. Open the post to see why |
When a manager turns on approval, social posts must be approved before they schedule or publish. A rejected post returns to draft with a Rejected badge until it is resubmitted. See Approval & review.
The editor footer
- Save Draft, Schedule (or Update on a scheduled post), and the arrow beside it with Publish Now, Mark as Published and, on YouTube posts, Finish on YouTube.
- More actions (⋯, bottom left) holds Duplicate, Flag / Report problem, Delete post and, on YouTube posts, View on YouTube.
- A published post shows Revert to Draft only if you marked it as published yourself.
- Close a post with the X at the top right. It asks before discarding unsaved changes.
A published post opens on its Analytics tab; drafts and scheduled posts show the Live Preview. Saving edits to a published post keeps its exact published time. Accounts that are offline support Save Draft and Mark as Published only; connect them to schedule. For YouTube-only actions, see YouTube publishing.
Reuse a post on another platform
Each post targets one account. To make a version for another platform, open More actions → Duplicate, pick the target under Duplicate this post to... and click Create duplicate. Convia creates a new draft with its own copy of the media. When you save a post that matches another on the same platform and day, Convia warns you but never blocks the save.
Bring in posts you already published
Add existing post pulls in posts you published directly on a platform, so their performance is tracked alongside everything else.
- Open Add existing post from the account's card menu in Social Channels, or from an episode's Distribution page to link the imports to that episode automatically.
- Choose Browse posts to pick from the account's posts, or Paste URL (YouTube and Facebook only).
- Optionally link the posts to an episode, then import.
| Detail | Rule |
|---|---|
| Platforms | YouTube, Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, Threads, Bluesky and LinkedIn Company Pages |
| Feed posts and reels, not stories | |
| Other people's posts | Reposts and posts made by someone else are left out |
| Live videos | YouTube and Facebook can filter to past live videos |
| Private or undated videos | Arrive as drafts, which don't collect performance. The confirmation says so |
| Bluesky | Reports likes, replies and reposts, but no views or impressions |
Delete and restore posts
Delete post moves a post to Settings → Trash. On the Posts tab there, Restore brings a post back, and Delete Forever removes it permanently. Select several to use Restore All.
