Ideas & scripts

Ideas and scripts are the planning side of Convia Pro. Ideas is your backlog of things to make; Scripts is where you plan an episode or video before you record. An idea can become a script, a post, an article or a campaign, and a script can become an episode, with each step linked to the one before it.

Ideas

Find your backlog under In Motion → Ideas. View it as a grid or a table, search it, and filter by status and priority.

Add an idea

1. Go to In Motion → Ideas and click New Idea.
2. Enter a Title. It is the only required field.
3. Optionally add a Description, Notes (research, links), Priority (Low, Medium or High) and Status.
4. Add tags, or apply a saved group under Quick apply from groups. Suggest tags proposes tags from your workspace vocabulary.
5. Click Create Idea.

Ideas also come from other places:

• Trends: create a quick idea or an AI idea from a trend alert, with a link back to the trend. See Trend discovery.
• Feeds: watch outside sources in In Motion → Trend Monitor → Feed Manager, and turn relevant items into ideas. Trend Monitor and Feed Manager need a plan that includes them.
• Website searches: Create idea on a search query in the Analytics Web tab starts an idea prefilled with it. See Website analytics.
• AI assistants: an assistant connected through MCP can create and update ideas. See MCP tools.

Idea statuses

Act on an idea

Open an idea and click Act on Idea:

The idea's Content Created section lists everything made from it. Items you delete drop off the list, and items you restore from the Trash reappear.

Scripts

Find scripts under In Motion → Scripts. View them as a grid or a table, search them, and filter by status and type.

Create a script

By hand

1. Go to In Motion → Scripts and click New Script.
2. Enter a Title, and optionally a Description, Script Type and Status.
3. Click Create Script, then write or paste the script under Script Content.

From an idea

1. Open the idea under In Motion → Ideas and click Act on Idea.
2. Choose Create Script and pick the Script Type.
3. Click Generate with AI. Convia writes the script and saves it.

Script types

You can change a script's type from its page.

Work on a script

The script page holds:

• Script Content, with Generate with AI for template-based drafting.
• An AI Assistant to develop the script with you, opened with Develop Script with AI.
• Notes for rough ideas, talking points, research and context.
• A live word count and a duration estimate based on speaking pace.
• Tags, Description, and Distribution Links for the YouTube and Spotify addresses once it is out.
• Media attached from your Media Library, such as reference images or b-roll.

Click Save Changes to save your edits.

Script statuses

Scripts use these statuses: Draft, In Review, Approved, In Production, Recorded, Editing, Published and Archived. Change the status from the script page or its edit dialog.

From idea to episode

Each step keeps a link to the one before it, so you can always see where a piece of content came from.

1. Idea to script. Act on Idea → Create Script creates the script. The script inherits the idea's tags, and the idea's Content Created lists it.
2. Script to episode. On the script page, click Create Episode from Script. Convia creates a new episode in the script's workspace and opens it. The script needs some content first.
3. Episode to content. Record, upload and repurpose the episode as usual. See Episodes & clips.

What carries over when you create an episode from a script:

After that, the script shows an Episode Created badge, and View Episode takes you to it.
